After discussing the different options available, Brian and Phoebe decided that a complete roof replacement was the right solution for their property. The project would not only give them a new roof, but also provide an opportunity to upgrade the insulation, renew the dormer roofs and replace the existing dormer cladding with traditional leadwork. One of the things Brian particularly valued was that Mendip Roofing Contractors could manage the entire project in-house. From scaffolding and materials through to the roofing itself, everything was handled by our own team, giving Brian one point of contact and none of the hassle of coordinating multiple contractors.

Before work began, we provided Brian and Phoebe with a selection of tile colours and ridge styles so they could choose a finish that suited the character of their home. They opted for Marley Double Roman tiles in Old English Red with half-round ridge tiles, a combination that gives the finished roof a traditional appearance while sitting naturally alongside the existing property. Once our scaffolding team had prepared the site, we stripped the existing roof back to the rafters and installed upgraded Kingspan insulation, ventilation measures and a Tyvek breathable membrane. New treated roofing battens were then fitted before the Old English Red tiles were installed, along with new leadwork to the parapet walls and a dry ridge system to provide effective ventilation along the ridge line.
